How often will you need to open your rack cases to inspect the electronics? Will you need to unscrew front panel while the case is still bolted in the rack? Or would you prefer to pull the case from the rack before you open it?

These are crucial questions. They will determine whether or not your rack case needs a front bezel. That matters because rack cases without bezels tend to be more cost-effective, thanks to their smart, simple design.

UNIMET 19" and METTEC 19" both have a front bezel. This design means the front plate is independent of the rack and can be removed while the enclosure is still in place. This can save time if regular inspections and maintenance are likely to be necessary.

The alternative is a flat-fronted model such as COMBIMET 19" – our most popular, versatile and cost-effective rack case range – or VERSAMET 19", which is very stylish but available only in a 1U height. To open the front panel, you must first pull these cases from the rack (hence their distinctive handles).

Below are some tables to help you compare all four models’ dimensions, technical features and customization options.
